About Us
Dr. H. John Custead, was awarded his Ph. D. by Florida State University.
There he researched on "The Iconography of Shiva Nataraja as an Indian
Synthesis of Non-Aryan and Aryan Conceptions of Divinity," work
which was positively reviewed by both of the foremost scholars of South
and Southeast Asian Art at that time, Dr. Stella Kramrisch of the Boston
Museum and the New York Institute of Fine Art, and Dr. Benjamin Rowland,
Jr., of Harvard University. "Dr. John" served as Associate
Professor of Art History and Aesthetics at Western Kentucky University
and now is an adjunct in Jacksonville, Florida. In addition to his scholarly
interests, he has written reviews, articles, and poems, and served as
a social worker. His other concerns have included growing orchids, collecting
gems, stamps, and antiques, especially both Nippon and pre-Nippon wares.
He has been aware of the esoteric traditions since childhood. His book
is the second he's written in not quite three years of "retirement".
He plans on having two web sites: the first of which will be for the
acquisition of his book and allied materials (CDs); and the second site
as "DrHJohn" for personal correspondence, metaphysical and
poetic concerns (pen name of "Danu").
